I am very impressed with this figure even though i thought i was going to hate it. It is the most durable Transformer figure i own. It looks great in robot mode and has excellent articulation. He uses the smoke stacks from vehicle mode as guns. Prime transforms into a blue and red Peter Built truck. The vehicle mode is also quite nice. Both the robot and vehicle mode are very detailed. One gripe. This Movie Voyager prime is not tall enough by my standards compared to the other Transformers. So I will be purchasing the leader class optimus prime. The reason this will not hurt the rating is because this is a movie voyager and can only be but so big.
Pretty Cool

This guy was my third transformer. After a while the missles have trouble staying in the cannons. The trick to making him stand up is that his feet unfold more than they seem to. This guy serves his purpose as audobot leader.
Probably the best version of Movie Optimus Prime

This is probably the best incarnation of Movie Optimus Prime. Unfortunately unlike the original toys and toys from the cartoon series, the robots were designed for the movie first, with little though as to how they would be turned into transformable toys. Generally the toys are made first, and a cartoon built around them (afterall, what are most cartoons except 30 minute kids commercials?)

Anyway I have this version of Movie Optimus Prime, Robovision Optimus Prime and First Strike Optimus Prime. They are all the same toy, with just paint and color variations.

Lets start with the bad: When in robot mode, this version of Optimus Prime has a "backpack" formed by the front of the truck-mode. It is large and unweildly and doesn't fit in at all with the movie transformation, but realistically none of the toys transform the way they do in the movie. Another bad point is that the backpack adds a lot of weight to the top of this toy, and sticks on pretty far, which means that this toy is top-heavy and unbalanced which can make it difficult to stand him up.
Also, his feet are not very stable (despite their relatively large size) which further adds to his instability.

Now onto the Good: From the front, this toy looks the most like Optimus Prime compared to the other movie toys. He is very poseable with good leg and arm articulation and his weapons can store on his backpack. Also his face if very detailed and looks just like the Prime from the movie.
In Truck mode is where this toy shines most, however. This toy was very well though out, and the truck most is nearly perfect. All parts fit snugly together and there is even a "holographic" truck driver in the drivers seat which slides into a compartment when you open the door. The guns turn into smokestacks that blend seamlessly with the vehicle mode and overall it is very movie accurate.

I own mutiple versions of this toy, as well as the Leader Class Optimus Prime, and I have to say I prefer this version. Leader class Optimus Prime, while having a slightly better transformation (the way his legs come out is great) has a lot of "kibble" around his robot mode made up from truck parts not having a "place to go" when in robot mode. It is also a lot less poseable, with legs and arms that are a bit difficult to move. The worst part is that they sacrificed attention to detail in order to incorporate a lights and sound gimmick that doesn't add to the toy in any way.

I feel strongly that for the price, Voyager (Robovision, Firststrike) Optimus Prime is a far superior toy. It would even be superior if it cost the same as Movie Leader Prime.

Highly Recommended.
Optimusly Primed to Recommend this Transformer!!!

Optimus Prime was drop shipped to Guam and from what I understand there are many knock offs imported there from many different parts of Asia that are not of the superior quality of this product. The kids are able to transform him without having him fall apart as the others have. This product may very well be made in China; however quality control is of optimal prime importance.
Bad Figure...NOT!

Three words:OPTIMUS PRIME ROCKS!!!I don't understand why this guy gets bad reviews because he is awesome! His truck mode is amazingly movie accurate, although there is a mechanism that pops a little man in the window to look like a truck driver which I eventually had to superglue in,but other than that this guy has an excellent truck mode.He also has a simple and cool transformation which leaves one awesome looking robot. In robot mode he has two guns which fire two missiles,as well as fully posable arms and legs.My only problem with his robot mode is the mechanism that holds his knees together eventually becomes loose and his knees seperate, but if display only is your game you won't have that problem.Don't listen to these bad reviews. This is a great Optimus Prime that fans young and old will love.
